How I work
My approach is integrative and humanistic, rooted in emotion-focused work, with the measured use of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural tools.
The humanistic tradition I trained in starts from the person rather than the problem: from the belief that each of us already carries what we need to grow, and that the therapeutic relationship itself is where change begins. Emotion-focused work adds a way of listening to feelings as information (about what matters to us, what we have lost, what we need) rather than as symptoms to remove.
What sustains each person is different: for one it is community, for another acceptance or a renewed sense of purpose. Part of my work is finding where your own footing lies.
Sessions are a place to slow down, understand what you feel and why, and find a way forward that is your own, including when the source of the strain is bigger than any one person.
